RESOURCES FOR HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES DURING CORONAVIRUS

Worksmith Connect

The guys over at Worksmith have started a fantastic initiative called Worksmith Connect which aims to provide support and togetherness for members of the industry - they have a created a list of useful contacts, documents, resources as well as a forum to assist. https://worksmith.io/connect

Mr Yum

A Melbourne based business doing simply awesome things in the restaurant takeaway space! Showing companies such as Uber Eats & Deliveroo that it is possible to connect venues with their diners via an easy to use ordering platform without the hefty commission, Mr Yum charges a very reasonable 4.5% per order.

Venues can apply to use the platform via their website.

SOCIAL MEDIA

WHAT SORT OF POSTS SHOULD BE GOING OUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA THIS MONTH;

With takeaway and groceries the only viable options for restaurants at the moment, many venues have turned to these to retain a stream of revenue - so continuing to promote any new offers and general delivery information remains important.

The promotion of gift cards for customers to use at a later day has been a successful way for restaurants to obtain some extra income with little effort also, so marketing these through your social channels could be a good idea also.

MARKETING TIP OF THE MONTH

Even with the hospitality industry being as disrupted as it has, it remains as important as ever to keep consistent with your marketing and inform your audience of what you are offering. Keeping your social media consistent, engaging with your followers, using promotional techniques such as competitions to garner some extra interest. These are just a few ways to ensure you can retain some business and stay in the minds of your customers when it comes to ordering takeaway or grocery boxes.
